ABOUT THE ROUTES
The Hottest Day of the Year Ride features two route options. Both feature well stocked rest stops with snacks, fun and games. The course closes at 2:00pm. Please choose a route that you know you can complete by that time. Please take into consideration that it could be a very hot day and you may need to ride at a slower pace. The finish line closes at 2:30pm. If you are on course without enough time to reach the finish line, a support vehicle may be available to drive you to the finish line party.
15 MILE URBAN ROUTE
The 15 mile route is a well marked,
mostly flat loop through Portland. Streets are open to cars
and the route is appropriate for adults of all skill levels.
A rest stop along the way will give you a nice break until
you're ready to continue on. Even if that bike only comes
out of the garage a few times a year, you'll be fine on
this easy course. Children who are strong, experienced street
riders are welcome. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
See map below.
40
MILE LOOP CHALLENGE
Those of you who want a little bit of a challenge will love
our 40-mile loop challenge. We'll take you past Kelley Point
Park, along Marine Drive and over Mt. Tabor for a sometimes
flat, sometimes hilly invigorating ride.
Registration occurs at the same time for both routes, but
40-mile challengers will be permitted to leave in the first
wave of riders. See map below.
The course is open until 2:00 pm. If you
cannot return to the finish by then, you will not have any
support (signage, medical riders) on course and the finish
line may be closed by the time you return.
